Isabella and her family live in the sprawling fields of Ecuador, where they work hard on the family farm and struggle tirelessly to survive. But Isabella is a dreamer! Though her life is marred by poverty and pain, she finds light in the darkness. For example, she loves to gaze at the stars at night. As they twinkle, she is mesmerized and filled with hope. Isabella’s story can point us toward another story of those who were inspired by the light of a star. Do you remember the wise men who followed the star to find Jesus?

For Isabella and many of the kids that we serve, stars are a symbol of hope - of better things to come. Last year, one little girl made a Christmas wish upon a star for a simple art kit. She knew that it was a luxury that her family couldn't afford. When she received her Project M:25 Give Christmas gift on Christmas Eve, she was overwhelmed with joy as she began to dance wildly, shouting, "How did they know exactly what I wanted?"

Inside was an art kit with colorful pencils, paints, and sketchbooks.
