Shining Moments

19905191_10212049962476536_8101456327717426367_nChildren are bombarded with so many choices for summer entertainment! Often sports teams, vacations and family outings crowd out activities like Vacation Bible School. But the children of Project M:25 eagerly anticipated our FUN summer programs, including Vacation Bible School.

At Project M:25, we have a lot of fun! Fun convinces kids that you actually like them. It helps to reconnect what has been disconnected, fosters resilience, and indicates forgiveness. Fun, over time, even helps friendships go deeper.

20031674_10212099544236049_1662765065779328303_nSo, when The Church at Liberty Square visited to help us with VBS this summer, we made sure to plan LOTS OF FUN! For six days, we learned about God while making crafts, eating delicious snacks and having fun. Testimonies of how God used this opportunity to deepen His friendship with the kids continue to touch our hearts.

Abi is a perfect example of how the summer VBS is still making an impact. Abi has been attending Kids Club since she was a little preschooler, along with her brothers and sisters. Her mom now is actively involved in our Precious Jewels Women’s Bible Study group. Abi is now 8 years-old and since the VBS, she has become a great little evangelist, telling other boys and girls about Jesus.

Recently, she met a boy in the neighborhood who stays home alone each day while his mother works. He talked about how lonely and scared he was and she shared with him about the love of Jesus and brought him to our ministry center to attend Kids Club. She has also been sharing about Jesus with boys and girls at her school.

Abi’s family is the recipient of one of the water filtration systems provided by our project, Give Water. Since they began using the clean water, the family has seen remarkable improvement in the kids’ health and Abi and her siblings have gained weight to be at a healthier level. This entire family has been transformed, spiritually and physically, by their encounter with Christ.
