COVID-19 Relief met with tears of gratitude

As Ecuador has been impacted by the COVID-19 crisis, the people of Ecuador are increasingly anxious as they struggle to find basic provisions for their families.  The children and families of our ministry are being helped as we share emergency rations of food as well as emotional and spiritual support. Our staff is working to help children cope with the trauma through which they are living.

Thanks to donations, we have given emergency, life-sustaining provisions to 100 families and will continue to help the neediest families as funds come in.

Of these 100 families:

  • 90% have no source of income currently
  • 20% have no money to purchase food
  • 18% of children are facing anxiety as a result of this crisis
  • 13% have a family member with COVID-19

As the women received their food baskets, they were very emotional as they expressed their gratitude for this blessing. Many of them broke down in tears as they shared about the stress that they are enduring as a result of not having enough food for their children, fearing the virus and some dealing husbands who are drinking and become violent.

We had a chance to pray with each of them and share the love of God in a real and tangible way with them. Only His love and hope can sustain them during this most difficult and uncertain time. Thank you for making it possible to bless these families with food and emotional support.
